Simply Neuroscience is an international non-profit organization working to expand interdisciplinary neuroscience and psychology education, outreach, and awareness for students. As an organization, our vision to increase accessibility to resources, events, opportunities, mentorship, etc. in brain-related fields is grounded in our core values of respect, empathy, inclusivity, and more.
The Simply Neuroscience community includes students and professionals of various ages, genders, sexualities, races, religions, nationalities, ethnicities, abilities, educational backgrounds, and other personal identities. We are committed to fostering a welcoming and safe learning environment through implementing the following guidelines:
-
Treat others with respect and kindness as you wish to be treated, even when there are differences in opinion.
-
Give the benefit of the doubt. Remember that people have varying communication styles and tones, and English may not be an individual’s native language. Interpret others’ words, meaning, and tone with good faith.
-
Prevent destructive comments that belittle individuals or their work. We are here to grow together as individuals -- focus on providing positive, constructive suggestions and feedback.
-
Report verbal, written, or physical bullying, discrimination, microaggressions, or harrassment of any form to the Simply Neuroscience administration at info@simplyneuroscience.org.
All individuals involved in events, activities, and other programming organized by Simply Neuroscience are expected to abide by the Code of Conduct. This includes but is not limited to attendees, mentors, mentees, ambassadors, speakers, judges, workshop hosts, and organizing volunteers.
If you have any questions, concerns, or recommendations regarding our Code of Conduct, please reach out to us at info@simplyneuroscience.org.
